What began as a part-time effort in helping families settle into a culture not their own while helping local women find jobs simultaneously, grew into the establishment of the Bliss Mae Baan Network, a nonprofit entity, better known as “Bliss”. Bliss has been training and connecting local house helpers with foreign families over the past two and a half years, fulfilling its vision of “creating stories of joy”– more than 300 times to be exact.
To date, the Bliss Mae Baan Network has trained over 300 women in Chiang Mai, Thailand on house helper job skills specific to the local foreign employer market, which as a result has helped more than 200 of them begin new jobs that provide fair wages and valued work for both them and their employer. Bliss Mae Baan Network currently runs a monthly Connection Day event to continue connecting employers and housekeepers, as well as partnering with the recently launched Bliss Clean + Care Company which offers different housekeeping services in Chiang Mai.
Today, the Bliss Mae Baan Network continues to operate as a non-profit project under the GEI Thailand Foundation and all proceeds go towards continued training and placement opportunity.
